Interlocking Block Stitch

Hieronder leg ik uit hoe je de Interlocking Block Stitch haakt. Doordat deze steek wordt gehaakt om de lossen van de onderliggende toer is het een fijne dichte steek, die toch heel soepel blijft. Perfect voor een deken denk ik. 

Wat heb je nodig voor een dekentje van 90 x 100 cm?

 We Are Knitters The Cotton (Pima Cotton, 100 gr/212m)

- 4 x Natural

- 2 x Aquamarine

- 2 x Mint

- 2 x Emerald 

Haaknaald 4 en 5 mm

Hoe haak je het dekentje?

Op Instagram postte ik al een reel met hoe je de interlocking block stitch haakt, dat filmpje vind je hier 

Begin met de kleur Aquamarine en haaknaald 5 mm.

Start met 154 lossen (voor een andere afmeting start met een meervoud van 4 + 2 lossen).

Toer 1: 1 stokje (st) in de 4e losse (l). 1 st in de volgende l. *2 l, sla 2 steken over, 2 st.* Herhaal *-* tot er nog 1 l over is, 1 st in de laatste l. 

Toer 2: 1 (l). 1 vaste (v) in de eerste steek. 2 l, 2 steken overslaan. *Haak om de 2 l van de vorige toer, in de steken van de daaronder liggende toer, 1 st in beide steken, 2 l, 2 steken overslaan.* Herhaal *-* tot er nog 1 steek over is, 1 v in de laatste steek.

Wissel bij het haken van de laatste steek naar de kleur Natural. Laat de kleur Aquamarine hangen, deze pak je 2 toeren later langs de zijkant weer op.

Toer 3: 3 l, *haak om de 2 l van de vorige toer, in de steken van de daaronder liggende toer, 1 st in beide steken, 2 l, 1 steken overslaan.* Herhaal *-* tot er nog 3 steken over zijn, haak om de 2 l van de vorige toer, in de steken van de daaronder liggende toer, 1 st in beide steken, 1 v in de laatste steek.

Toer 4: 1 l, 1 v in de eerste steek, 2 l, 2 steken overslaan. *Haak om de 2 l van de vorige toer, in de steken van de daaronder liggende toer, 1 st in beide steken, 2 l, 1 steken overslaan.* Herhaal *-* tot er nog 1 steek over is, 1 v.

Wissel bij het haken van de laatste steek naar de kleur Aquamarine, haal deze kleur losjes langs het haakwerk mee omhoog. Laat de kleur Natural hangen, deze pak je 2 toeren later langs de zijkant weer op.

Vanaf toer 5: Herhaal afgewisseld toer 3 en 4. Wissel na elke 2 toeren van kleur volgens onderstaand kleurenschema.

Wissel na 4 banen (van 2 toeren) met de kleur Aquamarine naar de kleur Mint. Haak dan 4 banen met de kleur Mint en wissel naar Emerald. Wissel na 4 banen met de kleur Emerald weer naar de kleur Aquamarine. Blijf dit herhalen tot er van alle 3 de kleuren 3 x 4 banen zijn gehaakt. 

Haak de laatste toer met de kleur Emerald als volgt: 1 l, 1 v in de eerste steek. *Haak om de 2 l van de vorige toer, in de steken van de daaronder liggende toer, 1 v in beide steken, 2 v.* Herhaal *-* tot er nog 1 steek over is, 1 v. Hecht de draad af.

Hoe haak je de rand om de deken?

Toer 1: Haak met haaknaald 4 mm en de kleur Natural een toer vasten rondom de hele deken. Haak op de 4 hoeken 1 l. Sluit de toer met een hv en hecht de draad af.

Toer 2: Ga verder met de kleur Mint. Haak een toer v in de achterste lus van iedere steek. Haak om de l in de 4 hoeken (1 v, 1 l, 1 v). Sluit de toer met een hv en hecht de draad af.

Toer 3: Herhaal toer 2 met de kleur Natural.

Toer 4: Herhaal toer 2 met de kleur Mint.

Toer 5: Herhaal toer 2 met de kleur Natural.

Start with the color Aquamarine and crochet hook 5 mm.

Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in first stitch, ch 2, miss 2 dc. *Working over the ch 2 and in the un-worked foundation chains on row below, work 1 dc in each of the next two ch’s, (this will enclose the ch 2 from row 1), ch 2, miss 2 dc.* Repeat *-* to ch 3 to turn, 1 sc in top ch 3. 

When crocheting the last stitch, change to the color Natural. Let the color Aquamarine hang, you pick it up 2 rows later along the side.

Row 3: Ch 3. *Working over the ch 2 and in the top of the dc’s from the row below, work 1 dc in each of next two dc's, ch 2, miss 2 dc's.* Repeat *-* to last ch 2 space and sc, work 1dc in each of 2 dc's on row below, 1 dc in sc. 

Row 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in first stitch, ch 2, miss next 2 dc's. *Working over the next ch 2 and in the top of the dc’s from two rows below, work 1 dc in each of next two dc’s, ch 2, miss next 2 dc's.* Repeat *-* to ch 3 to turn, 1 sc in top of ch 3.

When crocheting the last stitch, change to the color Aquamarine, bring this color up along the side of your work. Let the color Natural hang, you pick it up 2 rows later along the side.

From tour 5: Repeat row 3 and 4. Change color after every 2 rows according to the color scheme below.

After 4 lines (from 2 rows) with the color Aquamarine, change this color to the color Mint. Then crochet 4 lines with the color Mint and change to Emerald. After 4 lines with the color Emerald, change back to the color Aquamarine. Keep repeating this until 3 x 4 stripes of all 3 colors are crocheted. 

Crochet the last row with the color Emerald as follows: ch 1, 1 sc in first stitch. *Working over the next ch 2 and in the top of the dc’s from two rows below, work 1 sc in each of next two dc’s, 1 sc in each of next 2 dc's.* Repeat *-* to last ch 2 space and sc, work 1 sc in each of the next 2 d'sc on row below, 1 sc in sc. Fasten off.

How do you hook the border around the blanket?

Round 1: Continue with crochet hook 4 mm and the color Natural. Crochet a round of sc's around the entire blanket. Ch 1 on the 4. Close with a sl.st. and fasten off.

Round 2: Continue with the color Mint. Crochet a round of sc's in the back loop of each stitch. Crochet around the ch's in the 4 corners (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc). Close with sl.st. and fasten off.

Round 3: Repeat round 2 with color Natural.

Round 4: Repeat round 2 with color Mint.

Round 5: Repeat round 2 with color  Natural.

Bobble Hot Water Bottle Cover

Om onszelf warm te houden tijdens de koude wintermaanden slaan we massaal warmte dekens in om de verwarming een graadje lager te kunnen zetten. Maar wat dacht je van een heerlijke warme kruik. Of nog leuker een heerlijke warme kruik met een gehaakte hoes. Leuk voor jezelf, maar ook super leuk om cadeau te geven tijdens de Feestdagen. 

Wat heb je nodig om deze hoes te haken?

- 4 bollen Friends Wool van Hobbii 1x Off White (02), 1x Dune (07), 1x Misty Green (113), 1x Light Gray (117)

- Haaknaald 4 en 4,5 mm

- Een warmwaterkruik, ik kocht er een van 2 liter bij de Action

Hoe haak je de hoes?

Op Instagram postte ik al een reel met joe je de hoes kunt haken, dat filmpje vind je hier 

De hoes wordt in het rond gehaakt.

Begin met de kleur Light Gray en haaknaald 4,5 mm.

Start met 26 lossen (voor een andere afmeting start met een even aantal lossen).

Toer 1: 2 halve stokjes (hst) in de 2e losse. 1 hst in de volgende 23 lossen. 3 hst in de laatste losse. Ga verder aan de andere kant van de lossen ketting. 1 hst in de volgende 24 lossen. Sluit met een halve vaste (hv). (52)

Toer 2: 1 losse (l). 2 hst in dezelfde steek. 2 hst in de volgende steek. 1 hst in de volgende 23 steken. 2 hst in de volgende 3 steken. 1 hst in de volgende 23 steken. 2 hst in de laatste steek. Sluit met een hv. (58)

Toer 3 t/m 7: 1 l, 1 hst in elke steek. Sluit met een hv.

Wissel naar de kleur Misty Green en ga verder met haaknaald 4 mm.

Toer 8: 1 l, *1 vaste (v), 2 stokjes samen haken in de volgende steek*. Herhaal *-* tot het einde van de toer. Sluit met een hv.

Wissel na iedere toer van kleur. Zie onderstaande foto voor de kleurwissels.

Toer 9: 1 l, *2 stokjes samen haken in één steek, 1 v*. Herhaal *-* tot het einde van de toer. Sluit met een hv.

De 2 stokjes samen haak je in de vaste van de vorige toer. De vaste haak je in de 2 stokjes samen van de vorige toer.

Toer 10 t/m 36: Herhaal toer 8 en 9.

Wissel naar kleur Light Gray en ga verder met haaknaald 4,5 mm.

Toer 37 t/m 52: 1 hst in elke steek. Haak in het rond zonder de toeren te sluiten. 

Haak met de kleur Misty Green en haaknaald 4,5 mm een lossenketting die lang genoeg is om door de hoes te rijgen en een strik mee te maken. Haak vervolgens 1 v in elke losse, begin in de 2e losse.

Rijg het koord tussen toer 43 en 44 door de hoes. Stop nu de warmwaterkruik in de hoes en maak een mooie strik.

The cover is crocheted in the round. 

Start with the color Light Gray and hook 4,5 mm.

Chain 26 (for a different size start with an even number of chains).

Round 1: 2 half double crochet (hdc) in the 2nd chain. 1 hdc in the next 23 chains. 3 hdc in the last chain. Continue at the other side of the chain. 1 hdc in the next 24 chains. Close with a slip stitch (sl.st.). (52)

Round 2: Chain 1 (ch). 2 hdc in the same stitch. 2 hdc in the next stitch. 1 hdc in the next 23 stitches. 2 hdc in the next 3 stitches. 1 hdc in the next 23 stitches. 2 hdc in last stitch. Close with a sl.st. (58)

Round 3 to 7: Ch 1, 1 hdc in each stitch. Close with a sl.st.

Change to the color Misty Green and continue with hook 4 mm.

Round 8: Ch 1, *1 single crochet (sc), 2 double crochet together (2dctog) in the next stitch *. Repeat *-* until the end of the round. Close with a sl.st.

Change color after every round. See photo below for the color changes. 

Round 9: Ch 1, *2dctog in one stitch, 1 sc*. Repeat *-* until the end of the round. Close with a sl.st.

The 2dctog always worked in a sc of the previous round. The sc always worked in a 2dctog of the previous round.

Round 10 to 36: Repeat round 8 and 9.

Change to the color Light Gray and continue with hook 4,5 mm.

Round 37 to 52: 1 hdc in each stitch. Crochet in the round without closing each round.

Crochet with the color Misty Green and hook 4,5 mm a number of chains that’s long enough to weave through the cover and make a nice bow. Then crochet 1 sc in each chain, start in the 2nd chain.

Thread the cord between the rounds 43 and 44 through the cover. Put your hot water bottle in de cover en make a nice bow.

Full of Stripes Blanket

Daar is de blog, waar vele van jullie al een tijdje op wachten, dan eindelijk. De uitleg van de steek die ik gebruikte voor mijn strepen dekentje, de Full of Stripes deken. 

Voor mijn dekentje gebruikte ik restjes uit mijn voorraad. Maar, zoals bij mij vaak gebeurd met een restjes project, heb ik er toch nog wat bolletjes bij gekocht. Niet dat ik niet genoeg restjes heb, maar meer omdat ik de kleurencombinatie zo leuk vond worden en daar geen andere kleurtjes meer bij wilde doen.

Ik gebruikte garens van Fonty, Katia, Borgo de Pazzi en Rico Design. Mocht je de kleurencombinatie heel leuk vinden en eigenlijk ook daarmee aan de slag gaan. Dan kun je ervoor kiezen om de deken te haken met bijvoorbeeld Amore 160 van Borgo de Pazzi. De kleuren die het meeste overeenkomen met de kleuren die ik gebruikte zijn: 142 (vintage groen), 143 (vintage donkergroen), 101 (ecru), 127 (lichtbruin), 160 (ijsblauw). Maar hoe leuk is het om gewoon lekker met jouw eigen kleurcombinatie aan de slag te gaan.

There's the blog, which many of you have been waiting for for a while, finally. The explanation of the stitch I used for my striped blanket, the Full of Stripes blanket. 

For my blanket I used leftovers from my stock. But, as often happens to me with a leftover project, I still bought some extra yarn. Not that I don't have enough leftovers, but more because I liked the color combination so much and didn't want to add any other colors.

I used yarns from Fonty, Katia, Borgo de Pazzi and Rico Design. If you really like the color combination and actually get started with it. Then you can choose to crochet the blanket with, for example, Amore 160 from Borgo de Pazzi. The colors that most closely match the colors I used are: 142 (vintage green), 143 (vintage dark green), 101 (ecru), 127 (light brown), 160 (ice blue). But how nice is it to just get started with your own color combination.

Hoe haak je de steek?

Start met een oneven aantal steken.

Toer 1: 2 halve stokjes samen over de 4e en 5e losse vanaf de haaknaald. 

*1 stokje in dezelfde losse als de voorgaande steek, 2 halve stokjes samen over de volgende 2 lossen.* 

Herhaal *-* tot het einde van de toer. 

Toer 2: 3 lossen, 2 halve stokjes samen over het eerste samen gehaakte halve stokje en het volgende stokje. 

*1 piekstokje ingestoken in de onderliggende toer, in de opening tussen de twee laatst gehaakte steken, 2 halve stokjes samen over het volgende samen gehaakte halve stokje en het volgende stokje.*

Herhaal *-* tot het laatste samen gehaakte halve stokje. Eindig met 2 halve stokjes samen over het laatste samen gehaakte halve stokje en de 3e keerlosse.

Toer 3: 3 lossen, 2 halve stokjes samen over het eerste samen gehaakte halve stokje en het volgende piekstokje.

*1 piekstokje ingestoken in de onderliggende toer, in de opening tussen de twee laatst gehaakte steken, 2 halve stokjes samen over het volgende samen gehaakte halve stokje en het volgende piekstokje.*

Herhaal *-* tot het laatste samen gehaakte halve stokje. Eindig met 2 halve stokjes samen over het laatste samen gehaakte halve stokje en de 3e keerlosse.

Toer 4: Herhaal toer 3.

How to crochet the stitch?

*1 spiked double crochet inserted in the previous row, in the space between the two last crochet stitches, 2 half double crochets together over the next half double crochet together and the next double crochet.*

Repeat *-* until the last half double crochet together. Finish with 2 half double crochets together over the last half double crochet together and the 3rd chain stitch.

Row 3: Chain 3, 2 half double crochets together over the first half double crochet together and the next spiked double crochet.

*1 spiked double crochet inserted in the previous row, in the space between the two last crochet stitches, 2 half double crochets together over the next half double crochet together and the next spiked double crochet.*

Repeat *-* until the last half double crochet together. Finish with 2 half double crochets together over the last half double crochet together and the 3rd chain stitch.

Row 4: Repeat row 3.

Met deze steek kun je natuurlijk van alles haken. Wat dacht je van een warme sjaal, of een tof kussen. 

Voor mijn deken gebruikte ik haaknaald 5 mm en begon ik met 129 lossen. Daarmee werd mijn dekentje (zonder rand) circa 100 cm breed. Na iedere 3 toeren wisselde ik van kleur. Dit deed ik heel willekeurig, een beetje kijkend naar de hoeveelheid garen van alle kleuren die ik had liggen. Uiteindelijk werd mijn dekentje (zonder rand) circa 105 cm hoog.

Na een aantal keer twijfelen over een toffe rand, heb ik gekozen voor halve stokjes gehaakt in de derde lus.

With this stitch you can of course crochet anything. How about a warm scarf, or a cool pillow. 

For my blanket I used crochet hook 5 mm and started with 129 chain stitches. This made my blanket (without border) about 100 cm wide. After every 3 rows I changed colors. I did this very randomly, looking a bit at the amount of yarn of all the colors I had lying around. Eventually my blanket (without border) was about 105 cm high.

After a number of doubts about a cool border, I opted for half doubled crochets in the third loop.

Een aantal maanden geleden kreeg ik een doos met prachtige  bolletjes 7 Veljestä 7 Brothers Nature van Novita uit Finland opgestuurd. 7 Veljestä Nature is een nieuwe generatie sokkengaren. Maar ook een heel fijn DK garen om mee te haken. Het is volledig plasticvrij en 100% biologisch afbreekbaar. 7 Veljestä Nature is gemaakt van 70% zachte wol en 30% Tencel™ lyocell-vezel voor duurzaamheid. 

De Green Nature deken is door het gebruik van de Elizabeth steek een heerlijk volumineus dekentje geworden.

Uitleg bijzondere steek
De Elizabeth steek (ebst), ook wel de mini-bean stitch genoemd, haak je als volgt: steek de naald in de steek en haal een lus op (2 lussen op de haaknaald). Sla de draad om de naald, steek de haaknaald in dezelfde steek en haal een lus op (4 lussen op de haaknaald). Sla de draad om en haal door alle 4 lussen op de naald.

Explanation special stitch

Crochet the Elizabeth stitch (ebst), also known as mini-bean stitch, as follows: insert the hook into the stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over and insert the hook into the same stitch again and pull up a loop (there should be 4 loops on the hook). Yarn over for the last time and pull through all four loops.

Beschrijving
Start met de kleur groen en haak 106 lossen. Voor een andere afmeting start met een even aantal lossen.

Toer 1
1 ebst in de 2e l vanaf de naald.
*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.*
Herhaal *-*- tot het einde van de toer.

Toer 2
1 l, 1 ebst in de eerste steek.
*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.*
Herhaal *-*- tot het einde van de toer.

Toer 3 t/m 22
Herhaal toer 2.

Wissel aan het einde van toer 22 naar de kleur cream en hecht de kleur groen af.

Toer 23
1 l, 1 ebst in de eerste steek.
*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.*
Herhaal *-*- tot het einde van de toer.

Maak een lange lus, plaats eventueel een steekmarkeerder in de lus. Keer het werk niet.

Hecht aan de rechterkant, in de bovenkant van de eerste ebst, de kleur grijs aan en haak 1 losse.

Toer 24
1 ebst in de eerste (dezelfde) steek.
*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.*
Herhaal *-*- tot het einde van de toer.

Haal na het haken van de laatste steek de lus die je hebt laten hangen door de lus die op de haaknaald staat.

Haak 1 losse en keer het werk. De volgende toer haak je met de kleur ecru. Laat de kleur grijs hangen.

Toer 25
1 ebst in de eerste steek.
*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.*
Herhaal *-*- tot het einde van de toer.

Maak een lange lus, plaats eventueel een steekmarkeerder in de lus. Keer het werk niet. Steek de haaknaald in de eerste steek aan de rechterkant, de bovenkant van de eerste ebst. Haal de draad (grijs) door de steek en haak 1 losse. Haak verder met de kleur grijs. Laat de kleur ecru hangen.











Toer 26
1 ebst in de eerste (dezelfde) steek.
*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.*
Herhaal *-*- tot het einde van de toer.

Haal na het haken van de laatste steek de lus die je hebt laten hangen door de lus die op de haaknaald staat. Haak 1 losse en keer het werk. De volgende toer haak je met de kleur ecru. Laat de kleur grijs hangen.

Toer 27 t/m 53
Herhaal toer 25 en 26. Toer 53 haak je met de kleur ecru.

Wissel aan het einde van toer 53 naar de kleur groen en hecht de kleuren ecru en grijs af.

Toer 54 t/m 77
Herhaal toer 2.

Toer 78 t/m 108
Herhaal toer 23 t/m 53.

Wissel aan het einde van toer 108 naar de kleur groen en hecht de kleuren ecru en grijs af.

Toer 109 t/m 130
Herhaal toer 2.

Hecht de draad niet af, maar haak verder met de rand. Keer het werk en haak 1 losse.

Toer 1
1 ebst in de eerste steek, 1 l, 1 steek overslaan.
*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.*
Herhaal *-*- tot het einde van de bovenkant van de deken. Haak in de hoek (1 l, 1 ebst) in dezelfde steek.
(*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.* langs de zijkant van de deken. Haak in de hoek (1 l, 1 ebst) in dezelfde steek.) Herhaal tot het einde van de toer. Sluit de toer met een hv en keer het werk.

Toer 2
(1 l, 1 ebst, 1 l, 1 ebst) in de eerste steek in de hoek.
(*1 l, 1 steek overslaan, 1 ebst.* langs de zijkant van de deken. Haak in de hoek (1 l, 1 ebst) in dezelfde steek.) Herhaal tot het einde van de toer. Sluit de toer met een hv en hecht de draad af.

Werk alle losse draadjes weg.

Change to the color cream at the end of row 22, fasten off the color green. 

Row 23

Ch 1,1 ebst in the first stitch.

*Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 ebst.*

Repeat *-* until the end of the row.

Make a long loop, place a stitch-marker in the loop. Do not turn your work. 

Attach the color grey on the right side, in the top of the first ebst, ch 1.

Row 24

1 ebst in the first (same) stitch.

*Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 ebst.*

Repeat *-* until the end of the row.

After crocheting the last stitch, pass the loop you left at the side through the loop that is on the hook.

Ch 1 and turn your work. Crochet the next row with the color cream. Leave the color grey at the side of the blanket.

Row 25

1 ebst in the first stitch.

*Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 ebst.*

Repeat *-* until the end of the row.

Make a long loop, place a stitch-marker in the loop. Do not turn your work. Insert the hook in the first stitch on the right side, the top of the first ebst. Pull the yarn (grey) through the stitch and ch 1. Continue crocheting with the color grey. Leave the color cream at the side of the blanket.

*Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 ebst.*

Repeat *-* until the end of the row.

After crocheting the last stitch, pass the loop you left at the side through the loop that is on the hook. Ch 1 and turn your work. Crochet the next row with the color cream. Leave the color grey at the side of the blanket.

Row 27 to 53
Repeat row 25 and 26. Crochet row 53 with the color cream.

Change to the color green at the end of row 53 and fasten off the colors cream and grey.

Row 54 to 77
Repeat row 2.

Row 78 to 108
Repeat row 23 to 53.

Change to the color green at the end of row 108 and fasten off the colors cream and grey.

Row 109 to 130
Repeat row 2.

Do not fasten off, but continue crocheting the border. Turn your work and ch 1.

Row 1
1 ebst in the first stitch, Ch 1, skip 1 stitch.
*Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 ebst.*
Repeat *-*- until the end of the top of the blanket. In the corner (ch 1,1 ebst) in the same stitch.
(*Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 ebst.* along the side of the blanket. In the corner (ch 1,1 ebst) in the same stitch.) Repeat until the end of the row. Close with a sl.st. and turn your work.

Row 2
(Ch 1,1 ebst, Ch 1,1 ebst) in the first stitch in the corner.
(*Ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 ebst.* along the side of the blanket. In the corner (ch 1,1 ebst) in the same stitch.) Repeat until the end of the row. Close with a sl.st. and fasten off.

Sew in any loose ends.
